FAQ

Podcast production in San Francisco questions

How much does podcast production in San Francisco cost?

Turnkey onsite video podcast production starts from $5,000. Your fixed, line-item quote depends on cameras, crew, live streaming, number of episodes and editing.

Do you have a podcast studio in San Francisco?

Yes. SF Green Screen is our studio in South San Francisco, near SFO. Google Cloud’s The Agent Factory is produced there.

Can you produce a live podcast at a San Francisco conference?

Yes. That is our specialty. We built and ran the TBPN stage at GitHub Universe at Fort Mason, including the live episode with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

What does a podcast production company do?

We plan the show, build the set, supply the crew, cameras, audio and lighting, run the recording or live stream, then edit and deliver finished episodes and clips.

How long does setup take?

A single-room podcast, interview or livestream takes about a half day to set up. Larger shows load in the day before.

What cameras do you use for video podcasts?

4K broadcast cameras (Grass Valley LDX 86N, Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 with Fujinon lenses) or Panasonic and Sony PTZ cameras for robotic sets, with full ISO recording.

How many cameras do I need for a video podcast?

Most two-person shows look best with three cameras: a wide and two singles. TBPN at GitHub Universe and our AI Engineer Summit lobby podcast both ran three-camera setups. Panels and roundtables may need more.

Can remote guests join, and can you live stream the show?

Yes. We mix in-room and remote guests into one program and stream live to YouTube, LinkedIn or your event platform, as we did for TBPN with Satya Nadella.

Can we record several episodes in one day?

Yes. Batch recording is the most cost-effective way to produce a season. We plan the day so guests can change over quickly while the set stays lit and locked.

What do I get after the show?

Program records and camera isos, edited video episodes, audio-only masters for Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and vertical clips for Reels, Shorts, TikTok and LinkedIn.
