The brands who call us when the shot cannot be repeated

Fortune 100 companies, championship teams and the fastest moving names in the Bay Area trust Argus HD with footage that has one chance to be captured.

A San Francisco Drone Video Company Built for Brands That Cannot Miss the Shot

Aerial video in San Francisco is never as simple as launching a drone and pressing record. The city sits under Class B airspace on the approach to SFO, wraps around federal park land, and holds standing restrictions over stadiums, bridges and the waterfront.

Argus HD flies from our studio at 432 North Canal St in South San Francisco, minutes from SFO and a short drive from the Embarcadero, Mission Bay and downtown. We plan the airspace, file the authorizations, carry the coverage the city asks for, and put a licensed pilot and a visual observer on site.

The result is footage that opens a brand film, sells a building or gives a conference recap the scale it deserves. Your team stays focused on the event. We handle everything above it.

Why Leading Companies Choose Argus HD for Aerial Video in San Francisco

Most drone quotes in this city come from a solo operator with a calendar and a camera. That works until the airspace request is denied, the venue asks for a certificate of insurance, or the fog moves the shoot by a day.

Argus HD is a full production company. The pilot flying your project works beside the same team that runs corporate video, live events and broadcast for Fortune 100 clients every week. Nothing gets missed and nothing falls through the cracks.

You get one point of contact, a fixed line item quote after a 15 minute scoping call, and a crew that has already filmed inside the venues and campuses you are asking about.

Permits, Airspace and Insurance Handled Before the Shoot

San Francisco has some of the tightest drone rules in the country. This is what a compliant commercial flight actually requires, and all of it comes off your plate.

FAA Part 107 and Airspace Authorization

Most of San Francisco sits inside controlled airspace on the approach to SFO and Oakland. Our pilots hold current Part 107 certificates, every aircraft is registered with the FAA, and we request authorization through LAANC or a manual waiver well ahead of your flight window.

City Film Permit and Insurance

Filming with a drone in San Francisco requires a film permit plus two policies. Production insurance and a separate aerial policy carrying at least $2,000,000 aggregate, each naming the City and County of San Francisco and the Port of San Francisco as additional insured. We carry it and we file it.

Restricted Zones and Legal Alternatives

Golden Gate National Recreation Area land is a no drone zone, which covers the areas around the bridge, Crissy Field and Alcatraz. Flights are also blocked within three nautical miles of Chase Center and Oracle Park around game times. We scout legal vantage points that deliver the same look.

If a location cannot be flown legally, you hear it during scoping, not on the day of the shoot. We propose an alternative angle, a ground based option, or a licensed flight just outside the restricted boundary. We do not fly first and ask later.

Where We Fly Across San Francisco and the Bay Area

Our crews load out from South San Francisco and reach most Bay Area locations inside an hour. Travel days are quoted upfront, never added afterwards.

How Argus HD Delivers Your Aerial Video

Four stages, one producer, no gaps between them. This is the same workflow behind every corporate video and live broadcast we run in San Francisco.

01

Scoping and Airspace Check

We walk your locations on a 15 minute call, check each one against current airspace and park boundaries, and tell you what can be flown before you commit. You leave the call with a fixed line item quote.

02

Preflight and Permits

We file the airspace authorization, pull the city film permit, issue certificates of insurance with the endorsements your venue needs, and build a shot list around the frames you actually want.

03

Flight Day

A licensed pilot and a visual observer arrive early, brief the venue and fly inside a set window. Ground cameras and audio run in parallel when the project calls for it. Calm crew, no scrambling.

04

Post Production and Delivery

Aerial and ground footage is graded to match, cut to your runtime and delivered in the formats you need. Broadcast master, web version and vertical social cuts all come from the same flight.

What You Get Back

Aerial footage is only useful when it lands in the formats your team actually publishes. Every quote spells out the deliverables before you sign.

Argus HD by the Numbers

Argus HD is a San Francisco live event and broadcast production company that has produced live broadcasts since the dawn of online streaming. Our founder was on the crew for YouTube’s first live event in 2008, the San Francisco show where Katy Perry performed, and helped livestream Facebook’s earliest F8 developer conferences.

We have been doing live at scale for as long as the platforms have existed. That same team plans and flies your aerial unit.

What Aerial Drone Video Production Costs in San Francisco

Pricing depends on scope, crew size, locations and post production needs. A single location flight with a short edit sits at the light end. A multi day shoot with aerial and ground crews, permits at several locations and a full brand film sits at the other.

After a 15 minute scoping call we provide a fixed, line item quote so you can budget with confidence, no surprises.

What moves the number

Real Crews. Real Experience. The Team Behind the Flight

The pilot on your project is not a stranger booked through a marketplace. Argus HD runs an integrated team that works together every week across corporate video, live events and broadcast, so the aerial unit already knows how the rest of the production thinks.

That is why the footage cuts together cleanly, why the day runs on schedule, and why your executives stay confident from the call sheet to final delivery.

Aerial Drone Video Production San Francisco FAQs

Pricing depends on scope, crew size, locations and post production needs. After a 15 minute scoping call we provide a fixed, line item quote so you can budget with confidence, no surprises. A single location flight with a short edit costs far less than a multi day shoot with aerial and ground crews across several permitted locations.

For commercial filming, yes. The city requires a film permit, production insurance, and a separate aerial policy of at least $2,000,000 aggregate, with the City and County of San Francisco and the Port of San Francisco named as additional insured. Argus HD carries the coverage and files the paperwork for you.

Not by drone. Those sit inside Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which is a no drone zone. We scout legal vantage points that deliver a similar look, and you hear about it during scoping rather than on the day of the shoot.

Two weeks is comfortable for a permitted San Francisco flight. We have turned projects faster when the location sits in uncontrolled airspace and no city permit is required. Tell us the date and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Every pilot holds a current FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, all aircraft are registered with the FAA, and we carry aerial liability coverage with additional insured endorsements available for your venue on request.

San Francisco wind and fog move quickly. Every booking includes a planned backup window, and we watch conditions in the days before your shoot so the call gets made early instead of on site.

Yes. We use compact aircraft with prop guards for atriums, warehouses, showrooms and venue interiors where a full size drone would not be safe or legal.

Yes. Argus HD runs full corporate and commercial video production in San Francisco. Booking aerial alongside ground cameras, audio and lighting means one producer, one quote, and footage that already matches in the edit.

Yes. We fly across the Bay Area every month and travel nationally, with additional offices in New York and Las Vegas.

Not sure what level of aerial production you need?

Book a 15 minute scoping call. We will check your locations against current airspace, tell you straight what can be flown, and send a fixed quote the same week.
