Tim Kay is a master craftsman in event and video production with over two decades of experience. His journey began at 18, when he was accepted into a highly competitive internship with the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, training under some of the most successful directors in live sports television. That start led to national events including the World Series, NBA All-Star Games, and the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Alongside that broadcast career, Tim rose through the ranks of IATSE Local 16 — San Francisco's stagehand and AV union — working every position on a crew before he ever ran his own shows. He understands live events from the loading dock up: the labor rules, the house crews, and what it takes to make show day run clean. His path then took him to Hollywood, honing his craft alongside Academy Award-winning cinematographers and top-tier producers. When livestreaming emerged, Tim saw the writing on the wall and moved his expertise into event A/V — producing portions of Google I/O during its transition to a digital-only experience and working with Fortune 100 companies including Microsoft and Salesforce. For clients, that background pays off directly: when your event lands in a union venue like Moscone or the Marriott Marquis, you're working with someone who knows the rules and the people, and who budgets labor accurately before the venue contract is signed. Seeing the writing on the wall with the emergence of livestreaming and events, Tim transitioned his expertise to event A/V. He has produced a portion of Google I/O, Google’s largest developer conference, when it transitioned to a digital-only experience, and has also worked with Fortune 100 companies such as Microsoft and Salesforce, to name just a few. With a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Tim’s well-rounded background and wealth of experience make him one of the most sought-after event and broadcast production producers in the industry.
